Yes! Almost all of our students had no experience at first. Yet with dedication and martial arts training, they’ve become amazing athletes and martial artists. We’ll help you get there too.

What do I need to bring to my first lesson?

When you first arrive at Collingwood Martial Arts Centre of Collingwood – all you need are some comfy athletic clothes and a water bottle. We’ve got the rest covered.

You might be nervous about your first class. That’s perfectly normal! As soon as you see how kind and welcome the instructors and other students are – that nervousness turns into excitement.

I’m not very athletic, will I feel left out?

No matter your fitness level, you can train here. In martial arts – adults are in a group environment, but every one of us is on our own unique journey. You can go at your own pace. Some advance faster, others slower. That’s okay.

What’s important is that you’re having fun, challenging yourself, making friends, and growing stronger inside and out.

The coordination, strength, and speed comes with time – even in those who are not ‘natural athletes’!
